And it begins.

So after a little more than a year of playing NL, I have decided to start a blog in the hopes of encouraging myself to play more and stop lazing about doing fuck all every day!

I started playing Limit Holdem very casually a couple of years ago due to my father, who began playing online seriously in 2002/2003. I started reading LP soon after (SC player). Around August of 2007, a month or so before heading off to University, I moved on to NL. I moved from $25 to $200NL by Christmas and didn't go back to University for the start of the next semester - a combination of not enjoying my course as much as I thought I would, and a desire to continue with my growing interest in poker.

Then I hit a downswing. A rather horrendously bad one. During January and February my roll was crippled and I had to move back down to $0.25/$0.5. I admit that I was a fairly poor regular at the time, playing too many tables and FAR too robitically - my edge was pretty small, but there is no denying the endless stream of setups I was being dealt. In January alone I had 13 KK vs AA AIPF and only 1 AA vs KK. Fun stuff.

I moved from Party to Full Tilt and rebuilt from about $800. I continued my multitabling-robot ways for another month or two, winning, but not by a great deal. After reading a thread here promoting the idea of dropping # of tables and REALLY focusing on evaluating every situation fully, I tried it, unhappy with my current results, and immidiately noticed a huge difference. I have played 4 tables ever since!

My two biggest teachers have been my father, and Liquid Poker. I thank you both. I hope I can give something back.

Good luck all,
